What to Expect
A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE YOUR SESSION
You can expect a confirmation from us to ensure we’re aligned on your session start time, end time, and any final details. This is also a great time to ask any last-minute questions so you feel fully prepared and at ease going into your shoot.
THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION
We recommend taking your “everything” shower or bath the day of your session so you feel fresh and fully prepared. Your hair and makeup will be done by our in-studio artist unless we’ve discussed other arrangements. Please arrive with:
Clean, dry hair
A clean, moisturized face
No makeup applied
Wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid marks on your skin, and let us know in advance if you have any skin sensitivities or allergies. While you’re in hair and makeup, your photographer will review your wardrobe selections and begin curating the flow of your session so we can move seamlessly once we begin shooting. You’ll start with a brief wardrobe styling consult before hair and makeup begins.
ONCE YOUR SHOOT BEGINS
You do not need to know how to pose, we will guide you through everything. Expect clear direction, encouragement, and a collaborative energy throughout your session. We’ll demonstrate poses, guide your movement, and create space for you to naturally settle into your body. If you feel inspired to improvise, we welcome that too. We also love to create genuine moments, so don’t be surprised if we say something unexpected to make you laugh. The best expressions are often the unplanned ones. Some poses may feel unfamiliar or physically engaging, it’s completely normal. You may even feel like you got a bit of a workout (especially in your core and lower back). We recommend light stretching the morning of your session and again afterward. Taking something like ibuprofen later in the day can help ease any minor soreness.
YOUR SESSION TIME
Your session will move quickly, and that’s a good thing.It means you were fully immersed, comfortable, and engaged in the experience. We maintain a structured schedule to respect both your time and the flow of the day, so you can expect your session to start and end as planned.
AT THE END OF YOUR SESSION
We’ll help you gather your belongings and get you scheduled for your photo reveal appointment, so you know exactly when you’ll be seeing your images. If your balance hasn’t already been paid online, we’ll take care of that before you leave.
WITHIN 3 WEEKS
You’ll return for your photo reveal and ordering appointment, this is where you’ll see your fully retouched images for the first time. You’ll be guided through your collection and have the opportunity to select and purchase your favorites. We ask that you come prepared to make your final decisions during this appointment, as images not purchased are not retained afterward. Many clients choose to upgrade or add additional images once they see their gallery. If that’s the case, we’re happy to create a custom payment plan that works for you.
YOUR PHOTO REVEAL EXPERIENCE
We’ll begin by settling in and watching a cinematic film that tells the story of your session—featuring behind-the-scenes moments and highlight images. This is often the most emotional and exciting part of the experience. From there, you’ll view your full gallery and explore product options at your own pace. Your package includes a product credit, and we’ll walk you through how to apply it, whether you’d like to stay within your credit or elevate your collection with upgrades. These appointments are relaxed, supportive, and truly one of the most powerful parts of the entire process.
WITHIN 1 MONTH
Within one month of your reveal appointment (often sooner), your purchased products will be ready. You’ll receive an email when everything is prepared for pickup, or a tracking number if your order is being shipped.
WITHIN 6 MONTHS 😉
You’ll likely find yourself wanting to do this again. Many of our clients return for a second session once they’ve experienced it, and as a returning client, you’ll receive priority access to our calendar and exclusive opportunities.
