2018 Women In Business | Jen Star Movement Studio

2018 Women In Business - March Feature | Jenstar Movement Studio.

Ladies and gents, let me introduce you to Jen.

Jen is the owner of Jenstar Movement Studio. I actually found Jen and began following her on Instagram. I then messaged her directly with no response. I figured she was busy and maybe didn't even see it. However, I knew she would be speaking at the next Rising Tide, Tuesdays together, where I had every intention of introducing myself and asking to to feature her and I am so glad that I did! To hear more of that funny story be sure to listen to our podcast interview below.

My day with Jen.

This was not a typical feature, as I am usually in and out of an establishment within an hour, but in Jen's case we needed to switch things up a bit seeing as she offers more than just yoga at her studio and I would have to pop into each class to take footage and photographs in order to get the full story.

It was still dark when I arrived for the first class that Tuesday at 5:45am, but when I walked in, class was in full swing. That class was Barre. Barre is a class that uses a ballet bar and ballet movements and exercises the same way a dancer would train. However, these ladies were sweaty, so I knew that it wasn't "easy."

Next up was Jen's yoga class.

Before every class, Jen sits and takes a moment of study time while her students arrive and settle in. I love nothing more than to see what energizes and "teaches" the teacher.

What fascinated me most was seeing people of all ages and sizes here. It made it feel so much less intimidating and that I too could do this.

After Jen's class we shot her video, recorded the podcast interview + took some fun photos of her mad skills!

After that I headed out for a break and to get ready to gear up for the last class: Dance, like dance class for adults. Surprised is honestly the only word that can truly describe my feelings towards this class. In-fact, it intrigued me and motivated me so much that I stayed for the second class until the end. No joke. It took every fiber in my body not to move. Let's just say that this class has given me even more insight and motivation on how to help women that I shoot, especially during their boudoir shoots

The sexy chair dance is what looped me in, hook-line and sinker. I seriously will be attending next Tuesday next week if you would like to join me.

During the podcast interview that you can take a listen to below, Jen digs in deep about the meaning of this very vibrant artwork that is hanging in her studio. Be sure to take a listen to hear more on that.
